Senior MS SQL Database Specialist

eSpime is searching for a qualified Senior MS SQL Database Specialist to join the team of professional consultants in Finland. The right candidate will work at our client’s premises and will participate in project work.

Responsibility:

The main responsibility area is designing, operationalizing and supporting agile database infrastructures and database solutions to support data transactions, i.e. MS SQL Server databases. Other tasks in this position will be providing support on diverse database technologies, evaluating databases’ efficiency and ensuring that they are deployed properly, with high capacity and are highly resilient. In addition, Senior MS SQL Database Specialist will be responsible for system performance and reliability and its functioning with overall operating system.

Key tasks:

  • Perform database design, deployment and support as a consultant at client’s premises
  • Manage database systems in Development/QA/Production environments including installation, configuration, backup, recovery, replication, upgrades, schema changes, etc.
  • Database diagnostics and auditing
  • Provide advices and consultation regarding data management, data architecture, and data design.
Qualifications:

In order to succeed in this position it is required to have:
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in IT, Engineering or other related field
  • Minimum 5 years of Administration and Management of MS SQL Server databases version 2008 / 2005 on Windows, Linux and other platforms
  • Experience in Senior Database Management role
  • Excellent knowledge and solid experience in Microsoft SQL Cluster (Installation, Configuration, Administration)
  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in database backup and recovery
  • Strong problem solving, testing, and network troubleshooting skills
  • Enthusiasm for working in a very vivid multicultural environment
Other skills:
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills; Finnish language is optional
  • Team player, but also able to work independently
  • Good advisory and business skills
  • Flexibility when ever needed regarding working hours and working methods
  • Proactive approach to work, accuracy and possibility to meet deadlines
