MS SQL Database Architect

eSpime is searching for a qualified MS SQL Database Architect to join the team of professional consultants in Finland. The right candidate will work at our client’s premises and will participate in project work.

Responsibility:

The main responsibility area is designing and defining common database platform for MS SQL server improving its performance, availability, resiliency and stability.

Key tasks:

  • Supporting database platform and ensuring its security
  • Performing database platform upgrades
  • Scheduling backup and restoration of backups
  • Performing capacity planning and trend analysis
  • Identifying and managing conflicting requirements in order to improve the efficiency of the database platform and giving recommendations
Qualifications: In order to succeed in this position it is required to have:
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in IT, Engineering or other related field
  • Excellent knowledge on MS SQL Server, database architect and infrastructure
  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in data migration, clustering technologies, caching technologies, database security and auditing
  • Good replication knowledge, database back-up restore and recovery skills
  • Experience in using monitoring tools and platform performance evaluation
  • Experience in configuration management
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Enthusiasm for working in a very vivid multicultural environment
Other skills:
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills; Finnish language is optional
  • Team player, but also able to work independently
  • Good advisory and business skills
  • Flexibility when ever needed regarding working hours and working methods
  • Proactive approach to work, accuracy and possibility to meet deadlines
